It is one of the foremost pilgrimage site among the Chatumahasthana-the four great sites of Birth, Enlightenment, Sermon & Liberation (Mahaparinirvana). It is the single important spot for Buddhists all over the world which is located at stone slab in Sanctorum. The Sacred garden, Ashok pillar, Maya Devi image, Puskarini lake etc. are the primary attraction of Lumbini.
There are many temples & monasteries built by Japan, Korea, China, Vietnam, Sri-Lanka, Myanmar which offers room as well as meditation class to visitors. Furthermore, many historical places related to Buddhism are found at around Lumbini such as Tilaurakot (home of king Suddhodhan-father of prince Siddharth (later on he became the Buddha) which is located 20 km west from Lumbini, Gotihawa (historically & archaeologically important as Buddha got born & attained nirvana), Niglihawa is another important site about 7 km north of Taulihawa where the remains of broken Ashoka pillar lie close to a large pond and Sagarhawa where the ruins of an ancient pond were excavated in 1895. Archaelogist found the Sagarhawa as the “Palace of the Massacre of the Shakyas” which is about 12 km north of Taulihawa. And another important site is Devdaha, 54 km east of Lumbini across the rohini river, is the ancient capital of the Kolia Kingdom, which is the hometown of Queen Maya Devi (mother of Siddhartha Gautam).
Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Drive or fly to Bhairahawa from Kathmandu, drive to Lumbini.
Visit Mayadevi Temple, International Monastic Zone, Sacred Garden, Lumbini Museum and tour to surrounding areas of Lumbini Development Trust.

Day 2 Lumbini Sightseeing
Driving and visiting religious and archeological sites of Gotihawa, Kudan, Tilaurakot and Lumbini.

Day 3 Lumbini Sightseeing
Visiting religious and archeological sites at Devdaha, Ramgram.

Day 4 Drive from Lumbini to Chitwan
Drive to Chitwan, afternoon a walk to explore crocodile, evening culture program.

Day 5 Chitwan jungle tour
Jungle activities – Elephant riding, bird watching, canoeing etc.
